Alyssa Walker Exclusive Interview

Where are you from, and how would you describe your life growing up?

I was born and raised in Hamilton ON, Canada. Life growing up was busy but fun. I was always back and forth between my moms and dad’s house, and was always busy with dance and sports they enrolled me in.

How did you find your way in front of a camera, modeling?

I have always had an interest in modelling since I was a young child, so when a dispensary reached out to me to do a photoshoot for them I was super excited! That was my first photoshoot and I networked from there.

What do you like best about being a model?

I like being able to express myself in creative ways and bounce ideas off of different photographers to create something amazing.

Besides modeling what is the most important thing in your life? Do you have any unusual talents?

The most important things in my life are my friends are family. I keep my circle small and they mean the world to me.

We all need support in life. Where do you get your support? What or who inspires you?

My family and close friends are my support system. I have a tight circle that I value very much.My mom inspires me as she is one of the hardest working and caring people I know. She came from nothing and built a beautiful life.

What do you think is the most challenging thing about modelling and what advice would you give to new models?

I think the most challenging thing about modeling is comparing yourself to others. It’s so easy to compare yourself to other models and their successes, and all you see on the internet. My advice would be to stay focussed on yourself and understand that everyone is on their own journey in life. Just because you’re not where you want to be, doesn’t mean you are failing. Keep working at your goals and don’t give up!

What is your favorite way to relax? What do you do for fun?

My favorite way to relax is to go on a hike with my dog. I love being in nature, I feel like it clears my head and allows me to relax. I like being outdoors and try to get out as much as possible.

I like going out to events with my boyfriend and friends… we always have a great time.

What do you recommend for those wanting to keep in shape?

Find yourself a hobby to keep you in shape. Everyone enjoys different activities, so find what is right for you and excel at it. Being aware of the foods you are putting in your body is also very important. You are what you eat, so discover nutrient-rich foods that you love! That way it won’t feel like such a chore.

What would you consider your strongest attribute? What do guys compliment you most on?

I believe my strongest attribute is my mindset. I am always pushing myself to reach my goals and to get where I want to be in life. In my opinion, anyone can be pretty on the outside but it is what’s on the inside that matters.

Guys mainly compliment me on my physical features such as my body or face. I protect my peace at all costs so I don’t let very many people in to get to know the real me.

Anything about your heritage, ethnicity, or nationality that you feel people would like to know?

My grandparents from my mother’s side immigrated to Canada from Malta. They created a whole life and family from nothing, and I think that is incredible. My father’s side came over from Scotland and England, so many people think I am fiery due to my heritage which I find funny.

Please share something about yourself that may surprise others. What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?

I think people would be surprised to hear that I have always wanted to get married. My parents divorced when I was very young and people just assume that means I wouldn’t want to marry. I think its really special to find someone that you are willing to build and grow a life together with, and I can’t wait for my time.

The most adventurous thing I have done would be travelling to Malta with my mom. Instead of doing the typical touristy things, my mom and I rented a flat and explored ourselves.

What are your dreams, goals and ambitions?

My dream would be to own a successful business that positively changes the world.

My current goal is to get my real estate license and start in real estate. I currently work in the healthcare system and am ready to explore more options.

I have ambitions to network as much as possible to further my career in modelling.

If you were in a magical machine that could transport you to any place and time imaginable, where would you love to be? Why?
The 80’s.. as a child I always told my parents I was born in the wrong generation. I love the fashion, art, the tacky movies, and the fact there were no phones or social media.

What’s one thing about yourself that everyone should know?

I think everyone should know that I am friendly and love making friends! People have told me that I look intimidating or have a ‘resting bitch face’ but I am very approachable and won’t be a bitch!… Unless deserved lol.

What does being published on cineleton.com mean to you?

Being published on cineleton.com means a lot to me… I have been modeling for 2 years now and remember when I wished I could be in a magazine, and here I am. Thank you guys so much for giving me this opportunity.
